Grand Reception Entrance

Have you noticed that people in the wedding party no longer just walk in, wave and head to their seats? These days, making a grand entrance is becoming quite a trend – a good one too since it creates really cool photo opportunities.

Check out these guys doing the business at Tiffany and Dana’s wedding – how cool is this?

Lyndsay and David’s Wedding

Lyndsay and David’s wedding was at Brookstone Park in Derry, NH. Caren had a day off from wedding hair and makeup so came and helped me out with the photography. As usual she was able to get some great shots and made a huge contribution to our coverage.

The weather could have been nicer (we didn’t get to spend much time outside), but everything went really well. We enjoyed getting to hang out with Lyndsay and David’s international families and friends.

Here are some favorite images from the day, you can see the complete set of WebProofs at our Event Page. Prints can be ordered right from the gallery if anyone needs them.

Bouquet Toss

The tossing of the bridal bouquet is a tradition that started over in England and was believed to be a way for the bride to pass along her good fortune to others.

Bridal guests would try and tear away pieces of the bride’s clothing and flowers in order to ensure this good luck. In attempt to get away from this tearing of her gown, the bride would toss her bouquet into the crowd as she escaped.

The tradition says, the single lady who catches the bouquet has received the bride’s fortune and will be next in line to marry.

Here is Unique Bride Lyndsay showing how it should be done!

Infrared IR Images

Infrared IR Images - UniqueDay Events

We are always looking for ways to make unique images for our clients. With this in mind, a few years ago, I had one of our digital cameras converted to be only sensitive to the IR part of the spectrum.

This has turned out to be a great success. Not only has it allowed us to capture some really different images of much photographed locations (such as the Bedford Village Inn in the middle bottom image here) it is also great fun to do. I’ve found that IR brings some of the mystery back to my photography – when I press the shutter I don’t 100% know what I’m going to be getting.
