Stephanie and Ben had planned an outdoor wedding so we were really worried since it seems to rain all the time these days.
So we were lucky, no rain during the ceremony and we were all in the tent after that.

We had had to postpone the e-session for Cathy and Adam because of thunderstorms. We were able to try again yesterday and, despite only having a small amount of time, did get to visit some of our favorite spots.

Nanette and Michael drove over from Connecticut for their engagement shoot. We visited three of our favorite locations - the brewery (where it happened to be “get your photo taken with a Clydesdale day”), the millyard and Mine Falls Park.
It was way to hot to be running around with a lot of heavy equipment but we all had fun. Here are some samples:

Amelia and I drove up to the New Hampshire Lakes Region for Ben and Stephanie’s engagement session.
The day started out rather misty, but got to be really hot and sunny after a while.
Here are some of our favorites from the session:

We really enjoyed photographing the wedding of Shannon and Matthew a while ago so it was great to have the chance to capture some images of their first daughter’s Baptism. St. John Neumann Church is a great place for photography, there are lots of really interesting angles and viewpoints.
Here are a few of my favorite images from the day.

We didn’t have a wedding today, but I was really in a photography frame of mind. So I grabbed Em, Abby and the Bruce Dorn Stripbank and we went off to the old millyard. This is my favorite part of Nashua for photography, just so many cool shapes and textures.
The weather didn’t cooperate at all but we had fun. Click on any image for a bigger version.
Processing an IR Image

I’ve often been asked about the steps I take in post processing to make some of my cool infrared images. To be honest, the only way I’ve ever found to make a good digital IR image is to use a specially converted camera - there doesn’t seem to be a Photoshop technique that can achieve the same result.
So here is a little video that shows the steps I go through to process an infrared image from my IR converted Nikon D70. I’ve hosted the video over at my Smugmug account which seems to have made my colours a bit funky.

I really believe that our engagement sessions are an important part of our wedding photography. By spending a couple of hours with our clients before the wedding day gives them a good idea of what to expect from us and helps make the big day more relaxed.
It is great for us because we get to hang out with cool people and often try new things to keep our photography fresh.
Yesterday, was the e-session for Lauren and Steve. The locations were the Manchester Millyard and beautiful St. Anselm’s College..

Today was Kristin and Jerry’s wedding in West Boylston, MA.
It was a beautiful day to hang out with a great family - what’s not to love!
It’s hard to pick favorite images, but here are some that I like:
I wanted to jazz up the image of Kristin and her Dad making their entrance, so when they walked down the aisle I asked Amelia to follow them with one of our remote strobes. I like how the effect worked out.
